I absolutely love indulging myself ever so often with a Spa treatment .With all the rigorous gym workouts, I suffer from a lot of aches and pains and a good regular massage helps me relieve all the lactic acid formation. A good Spa is my own personal peace haven. So I was so glad to receive an invitation to try out a massage treatment at The Four Fountains Spa, at Bandra, Mumbai.
The Four Fountains Spa is hailed as India's largest chain of affordable health spas. They have a wide range of treatments to choose from, you can get massages, body wraps, facials, polishes and other great treatments without breaking the bank! They have 17 spas in over 8 different cities in India.
So here's my experience at the Bandra branch of the Four Fountains Spa !

The Spa Entrance Décor |
- The ambiance at the spa is very calm and comforting. As soon as I arrived there I got a whiff of some lovely aroma oils that set the tone well for a soothing and calm state of mind. A lot of attention is given to getting the ambience right so
along with the fragrance, you also have soothing instrumental music playing
gently, dim lighting, stunning Buddha statues placed all over and the décor in warm tones of brown and gold also added greatly to the relaxing atmosphere.
- The service is warm, helpful and prompt. The staff at the reception sat down to decide what therapy would be best for me. I took a little quiz to determine my stress levels, which was moderate. They recommended a treatment based on my needs, profession and age after a consultation with a health expert present at the spa.
I decided to go in for the Swedish Massage due to the muscular pains from the my rigorous gym workouts. This treatment entails use of five different movements to relax muscles by applying indirect pressure against inner muscles and bones, while massaging the muscles in the direction of the flow of blood returning to the heart. It increases oxygen supply to the muscles and reduces lactic acid formation.
My appointed masseuse, directed me through a corridor into a therapy room one named Bliss! The rooms are spacious and well maintained. As with spas everywhere, here too,
you are provided with disposable inner wear. My therapist, was very
courteous and asked me for my preference of music volume and room
temperature.
They had some soothing Oriental music playing and an aromatic candle lit up. The masseuse hands seemed well trained and helped getting rid of a lot of the kinks and knots in my back, shoulders and legs.

The therapy room has it's own attached shower cubicle and after my hot relaxing shower I changed back and headed back to the reception where I was given my next appointment date, a glass of unsweetened herbal tea, and a jar of de-stressing balm .
The treatment did help in reduction of my muscular pains and aches and left me refreshed and rejuvenated. All in all a very soothing experience.
I was pleasantly surprised to find such good quality spa treatments at such affordable rates. I would definitely go back there again, but the only thing I didn't like was that the Reception staff was to pushy on trying to make customers sign up for their membership package.
So, if you are in Bandra and want to relax and pamper yourself, I would highly recommend The Four Fountain Spa at Pali Naka in Bandra for some affordable relaxation, with a vast array of different treatments.
Are you'll also Spa Junkies like me, how often do you indulge yourself for some well deserved pampering ??
